Description

Primary responsibilities include reading residential, commercial and industrial water
meters. Installing meters and reading devices, while performing maintenance and
repairs of water mains, sanitary sewer, booster stations, fire hydrants, service
connections and appurtenances. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

Related work experience is a plus; must be a high school graduate. Valid Michigan commercial
driver’s license is a plus (will be required in 3 months). Michigan Operator’s S-4 License or higher is a
plus (S-4 will be required within 2 years). Ability to drive a car, truck, backhoe; climb stairs and
ladders; work in confined spaces and heights; walk in difficult terrain (uneven grades, snow, ice, etc.).
Must be physically able to lift 75lbs, remove manhole covers, and operate power tools. Read and
comprehend technical books, manuals, and blueprints. The ability to communicate effectively and
courteously with customers is a must. Employee will be subject to a 90-day probationary period and
random drug and alcohol testing.
